‘The Flash’ spoilers: Are changes in the works for Eddie Thawne?

Season 1 of “The Flash” has been all sorts of insane so far, and one of the craziest things is realizing that there is still so much room for things to change and morph before the season comes to a close. Given that Eddie Thawne was a character fans were worried about from the very beginning thanks to his last night, there is still great potential for him to fall into some bad, potentially-deadly habits by the time the season ends. Him being trapped with “distant relative” Eobard probably does not help matters at all.

Of course, there is only so much that can be teased for the final episodes of the season, but something that could be important in analyzing the relationship between Eddie and Barry Allen in particular is the fact that he will have a role in saving him from Eobard. Speaking to TVLine, Rick Cosnett had the following to say:

“The gang actually finds Eddie … I can’t say what state they find him in, or if they rescue him, but they do find him a very different man than what he was — than what we’ve seen til now at least. It’s a life-changing moment for Eddie.”

Our concern admittedly is not for Eddie this season, but potentially what he could end up becoming maybe once we get to a second or third season. “Arrow” has shown us that they are willing to play the long game with some of their villains. Slade did not become Deathstroke really until the second season, while HIVE was planted in some ways all the way back in season 1.
