‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Reese Witherspoon helps FLorence + the Machine with a ‘problem’

This weekend, “Saturday Night Live” is going to be airing a new episode hosted by Reese Witherspoon and featuring Florence + the Machine … but someone may need to find the machine first.

The promo below features Reese alongside Florence Welch of the band and cast member Taran Killam, and the location of said “machine” is one of the many random gags that is thrown out there for the potential enjoyment of viewers. The thing that we’re probably the most impressed with at the moment is just how game Welch seems to be to go along with this sort of silliness, and doesn’t take herself too seriously. That is a fear that we always have for almost any musical guest.

Overall, we’re going to say that we are excited to see this episode. While Witherspoon is probably now one of the bigger movie stars out there, we’ve never gotten a vibe from her that made us think that she was in any way full of herself or afraid to do silly things on stage. Given that she is currently promoting a new comedy with Sofia Vergara, she should be game to do almost anything thrown at her.

Oh, and we should also throw out there that we do also still feel like Vergara could make a cameo in here, given that she is a former host and she is also promoting the movie. “Modern Family” is already done with filming, so why not go for a few laughs?

This is the second-to-last “SNL” of the season. After this one, we will be waiting until the finale hosted by Louis CK with a performance from Rihanna.
