ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: Look out for more Lanie, Esposito

While it’s understandable that Castle and Beckett are going to be the most visible and prominent relationship on “Castle” (just look at the show’s title), isn’t it always nice to get a few little reminders about another popular pair?

This is what this story is more about: The future for Lanie and Esposito. These two have had some little moments here and there (including at the site of the Caskett wedding prior to you-know-what going down) where we start to think that they may be an actual couple, but it’s never been enough to solidify the relationship. We understand that neither is the lead of the show, and therefore there is time that must go to other people.

But with all of that being said, can’t you give us a little something after all this time? Luckily, show creator Andrew W. Marlowe seems to be kind enough to accommodate this request. Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, he confirms that the writers “do have a couple of things that we’re working on, in that relationship.” Unfortunately, that’s it … but it is at least something. We’re still hoping for an episode that revolves almost entirely around Lanie, given that the last one we thought was going in that direction ended up being more of a 3XK stepping stone. For now, though, we suppose that we will take almost anything that we can get with these characters. A few little hints about them getting together (or at least spending time together) is better than nothing about it at all.
