ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7: See Nathan Fillion reunite with ‘Firefly’s’ Alan Tudyk at Nerd HQ

Did you think that Nathan Fillion was really done with Comic-Con after his promotional efforts with the “Firefly” mobile game a little earlier in the weekend? You thought wrong! The convention icon presented himself on Sunday for the third straight year at Nerd HQ for a lengthy panel alongside his “Firefly” and “Serenity” co-star Alan Tudyk, and things from there quickly got entertaining.

The topics of conversation in here are great. Of course there are a ton of “Firefly” questions anytime that these two are together, but “Castle” was brought up along with general science fiction, fantasy, and comic book questions. Fillion’s got a real handle on how to work a crowd at this point, so he masterfully tackled almost anything that was thrown at him.

Now that we’ve said all this, can we really put it out there on the internet that we would really like to see Tudyk on a “Castle” episode at some point? We’ve seen Adam Baldwin and Gina Torres both take a part, but he is on that list with Jewel Staite, Morena Baccarin, Sean Maher, and Summer Glau for people we want to see make an appearance. Given Nathan’s history and the continued popularity of “Firefly,” we are honestly shocked that this hasn’t happened already.

Now that Comic-Con is starting to finally wind down, we’re now left looking ahead to the rest of the production schedule. “Castle” will be back at work soon on the upcoming seventh season, which premieres on ABC Monday, September 29. Obviously, Nathan’s got a huge part as always as the title character, and we’re set to see what happens next with him after the car scene at the end of the finale.
