‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 spoilers: A new look at Bob Newhart’s next appearance

Who is ready for another dose of Professor Proton on “The Big Bang Theory“? If you love seeing Bob Newhart’s character, then we have it under good authority that you are probably going to love Thursday’s episode for so many reasons.

The biggest thing that we take from the photo above is that this episode seems intent to capture every part of our childhood. Even though Professor Proton may not be a real character, this image (including the owl) reminds us so very much of every cheesy science program out there. Also, you have the part of this sort that will be ripe full of “Star Wars” connections. This is an epic episode that LucasFilm has collaborated with the writers and producers on, as the characters are going to be embarking on an epic celebration of Star Wars Day.

The part of the story that complicates this is that it is coming at what is not necessarily the greatest time for all of the characters. Sheldon is still confused about his future in String Theory, whereas Penny is trying to find success as an actress, Raj has a new relationship, and Howard is trying to figure out how to further care for his ailing mother moving forward. While it’s hard to say how many of these storylines will collide in an episode that relies heavily on “Star Wars” lore and also having Newhart around for his third appearance, they are all on our mind.

Personally, we also just hope that this episode is a slight step up from what we saw this past Thursday. While there were some laughs in “The Anything Can Happen Recurrence,” it seemed more intent on just trying to build up stories than really pay any of them off.
