‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7, episode 11 preview: Meet Fat Leonard
First of all, we have to say that despite Thursday’s “Big Bang Theory” episode being 7×11, we sense no Slurpee jokes at all are coming our way. Sad. Instead, what we have in the preview video below is a teaser for what should be a pretty fun holiday episode that asks the interesting question as to what Leonard and his friends’ lives would be like if Sheldon were not around.
Already on this beast known as the internet, we have heard some pretty negative comments a la “another show has already done that.” Well, guess what: A lot of shows have already done this, and it’s thanks to “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Rather than getting all whiny over the premise, let’s focus on the fact that this has the potential to be really funny. Everyone acts like Sheldon is an albatross, but in reality, he’s the glue holding the group together.
Exhibit A of Sheldon being a good friend – Without him, then apparently Leonard would have first met Penny at The Cheesecake Factory … and it would have gone very badly.
Exhibit B of Sheldon being a good friend – Without him, Leonard would apparently eat so much that he’d weigh 400 pounds. Some people are suggesting that this is because of depression over not having Penny, but we think it’s more than he doesn’t keep Raj in line, and Raj proceeds to just feed him everything under the sun.
There’s probably way more than this that we end up seeing, but the promo below doesn’t give it all away. The truth here is that Sheldon may be an irritant who cares about himself more than anything in the universe, but he does still care. Not only that, but he gives the rest of the group a common subject of conversation: How they’re annoyed by him. This could be a rather sweet episode, and we’re pretty happy that Jim Parsons is still appearing even if he is seemingly just over Skype.
You can read the official synopsis for this episode here, and we will have some more details (including a sneak peek) as they start to trickle out.
