‘Arrow’ season 2, episode 7 preview: Seth Gabel’s The Count returns in ‘State v. Queen’
If you felt a little like Wednesday night’s “Arrow” was a little too much of a detour away from what has already been established (which we would be surprised about, but everyone’s got their own feelings), you may appreciate next week’s “State v. Queen.” this is an episode that will feature the return of Seth Gabel as The Count, one of the show’s most notorious villains to date. Not only that, but it also marks an opportunity to really dive deep into the case for Moira Queen, which seems to be progressing rather quickly when compared to some in the real world.
Before we do anything else, our suggestion is to check out the synopsis below via The CW:
“Oliver (Stephen Amell) is concerned when a mysterious illness sweeps the city, infecting hundreds of people, including Diggle (David Ramsey). Oliver discovers Vertigo in Diggle’s blood and realizes The Count (guest star Seth Gabel) has broken out of prison and is once again distributing his drug. Meanwhile, Moira (Susanna Thompson) goes on trial for her participation in the Undertaking. ADA Adam Donner (guest star Dylan Bruce) collapses in court with Vertigo symptoms so Laurel (Katie Cassidy) must step in and try the case against Moira. Oliver is torn between standing by his family during the trial and catching The Count. However, things change when Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) follows a lead and walks straight into a trap set by The Count.”
As for the promo below, this is really all about Vertigo (arguably the flashier part of the story), and there is no real mention about the fact that there is also a court case going on here, as well. At least Seth Gabel is keeping all of that creepiness that we saw from him last time. As for seeing Felicity become the damsel in distress … meh. We’d rather see someone a little more unexpected in danger.
