NBC’s ‘Revolution’ season 2 spoilers: Series boss explains role of ‘Supernatural’s’ Jim Beaver
It makes sense that we would see Jim Beaver playing a part on “Revolution” season 2, mostly because he and show creator Eric Kripke have quite a common bond: “Supernatural.” Beaver is one of the many actors on the CW series who have guest-starred here, though he is one of the more noteworthy names. After all, we imagine that Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are too busy to really even breathe, let alone to actually appear on the show.
So what sort of character is Beaver going to play? Specifically, he will be the Secretary of the Interior in what is being known as the nation of Texas. (Anyone else find it funny that Texas actually is its own country again on the show?) For some more details, just take a look at what Kripke had to say to TVLine:
“Jim’s character is a lifeline to Miles, who is like, ‘If I can get Texas, which is a nation of gunslingers and lawmen, to join me in the fight against these guys, I actually have a chance at beating them.’ So Miles needs to convince Jim’s character to join the fight. But you know, twists and turns and hilarity ensue.”
The idea of anything related to “hilarity” on this show currently has us excited, mostly because that is not a term that we would often use to describe this series. As a matter of fact, one of the biggest issues surrounding “Revolution” is that it tends to take itself very seriously, and at times a whole lot more than it really needs to. A little bit of fun can go a long way, just like the show could really benefit from showing off much more when it comes to science fiction. We’ll have another new episode airing on tomorrow night, and that will give us another opportunity to see just what sort of events Kripke and the writers use from here to get us excited about the story ahead.
