‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5: Nina Dobrev loses her clothes … for healthcare?

When we first heard about the following story, it was confusing enough to at least make us briefly do a double-take. Wait, why is Nina Dobrev stripping down to support healthcare? Do these two things go hand in hand or is this a reason for Dobrev to do something somewhat shocking? When it comes to the sheer premise of the photo, it’s a little bit of a stretch to match taking off your clothes with healthcare. However, at the same time it clearly served its purpose, since we are sitting here and writing about it now.

In the photo below on Instagram, you can see the star of “The Vampire Diaries” standing seemingly without any clothes on, and saying that Americans need healthcare in order to ensure that they do not become “exposed” by not being able to take care of it. Dobrev mentions that she is Canadian, and universal healthcare is something that she is more than familiar with; however, it has become quite a hot debate in the United States.

We’re not going to sit here and debate the politics of anything since this is really not that kind of site, but we will ask you this: How much of an impact do celebrities really have on political causes? We have seen it as a catalyst for change at times (look at the celebrity support behind getting Obama into office during his first term), whereas on some other occasions, it mostly ends up being ignored. Of course, it would certainly help if the government shutdown was not happening right now, because thanks to that we have a feeling that most of the other specific comments from celebrities are going to be somewhat left out at the end of the day.
