NBC’s ‘Revolution’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ guest takes on an arc

Steven Culp has amassed himself quite a connection of memorable guest-starring roles over the years. In addition to appearing on classics like “ER,” “JAG,” and “Desperate Housewives,” he also had a four-episode stint last year on “Grey’s Anatomy.” So what is coming next for him? How about a role on NBC’s exciting / polarizing sci-fi epic “Revolution.”

Deadline reports that Culp is going to be recurring for several episodes on the show’s second season taking on the part of Edward Truman, an authority figure that has some sort of air of significance surrounding him. While the last thing that this show may have necessarily needed was another strong male personality (especially with Miles already around), this is precisely what we are getting.

Culp’s addition rounds out what is already a jam-packed list of guest stars, given that you already have such characters as Rachel’s father and some prospective love interests stopping by. After a production in North Carolina that went off pretty swimmingly, the show is taking a back-to-business approach to what is going on right now in Austin, Texas. The premiere date of September 25 is still a little ways away, which means that producers have time to add some more to the cast along with a few creative tweaks to the series.

All we hope is the Culp and the other new faces create a more interesting dynamic for the characters, where Charlie is not constantly complaining and where Giancarlo Esposito has more opportunities than ever to rock out with his bad self. Given that this weekend is the beginning of the end for “Breaking Bad,” we’re thinking about him more than usual.
