‘Once Upon a Time in Wonderland’ spoilers: New promo all about love

If you have been looking forward to seeing “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” you’re not alone. This is an ambitious ABC series without a true pilot, and one that the producers are crafting for the time being with really just a series of scenes thrown together. That’s not a particularly easy thing to do, but somehow these people keep managing to come up with video content that sells this show as one of the most-exciting things to debut this year.

For this new promo, for example, the network makes promises here that we are in line to see an epic love story featuring Alice, a man she loves from another world, and doubters who try to tell her that this world does not exist. It’s a nice twist on the original story, and it takes some themes from the flagship show and makes them somewhat their own.

How will this sustain as a series? The good news is that executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis are writing this as a contained arc, and if there is more story to tell with a second season, they will deal with that then. For now, they just want to focus on this story, and giving it that emotional firepower that so many of you are hoping for. It’s also going to likely need some fan firepower, given that the show is premiering on Thursday nights against the behemoth known as “The Big Bang Theory.” There have not been many ABC shows (as in any) that have survived going up against this show since it first premiered.
