‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: When could Peter Pan be announced?

While we know that there are a number of “Once Upon a Time” characters being cast right now for season 3, there is also little doubt as to the one that most fans are waiting to hear more information about: Peter Pan. This mythical man first became a looming presence near the end of season 2, where it was quickly discovered that this was not the same Pan that so many children had loved to read about in storybooks over the years. He was to be feared, and responsible in some way for forcing children to have a “lost” status before their name.

But who is going to play him? As of right now, there is an effort to keep whatever there is a secret until a particular announcement is made. When could that be? According to TVLine, the hope may be to make the news known while at San Diego Comic-Con later this month. This could be a rare opportunity to actually make a huge announcement in front of thousands of fans, and for a showrunner, there is nothing better than seeing the fruits of your labor met with cheers and support.

This is the same venue, remember, that “Once Upon a Time” producers first used in order to announce that Captain Hook was going to be joining the show, though it was not revealed later that Colin O’Donoghue would be playing him. The obvious difference here is that we already know about the Pan character coming on the show, so teasing his arrival yet again would not come as much of a surprise.
