‘The Newsroom’ season 2 spoilers: Watch Will McAvoy get intense in new promo
For a show entitled “The Newsroom,” it is pretty interesting that in the newest promo for season 2, much of what we see actually takes place away from a newsroom entirely. Instead, we have pale walls of a deposition, and Will McAvoy having to defend himself against what appears to be an unknown power. It’s proof that with high ratings come a higher responsibility, and something goes so terribly wrong that it causes ACN to issue an apology.
Here’s what we can tell you about what you are witnessing below. Much of season 2 is framed around a deposition that happens, and you see the story flash back to everything that has happened in the meantime along the way. There are going to be all sorts of events covered within there, whether it be the Presidential campaign, international relations, and of course of those fluff stories that make Will want to hulk-smash his desk.
Whatever happens as a result of this deposition, it goes straight to the top. Even Jane Fonda’s Leona Lansing is going to be forced to take part, and if things go wrong, Will and most of his team could be in serious jeopardy of ever working in news again, let alone keeping their jobs on this network in particular.
“The Newsroom” season 2 begins on Sunday, July 14, and as polarizing as this show may be to some, for us it’s an obsession and an opportunity to geek out far more than we ever do while actually watching something related to cable news.
