‘True Blood’ season 6 spoilers: Some things never change…

If you are anxious for the season 6 premiere of “True Blood,” we certainly understand that. The HBO series has been off the air for an eternity, and we are now finally past the one-month point of waiting until new episodes come back.

So on this occasion, we do not necessarily have something to share that constitutes an enormous spoiler on the story. Instead, this is really just all about the little things. This photo is from the fifth episode of the new season (with the not-so-subtle title of “F**k the Pain Away”), and while it fails to show us anything new, it does remind us that even in a world of change such as Bon Temps, Louisiana, there are some things that stay the same. There will still be a diner in Merlotte’s, and Arlene will try to support her family by working at it. That is certainly not an easy proposition for most people, but somehow, she is finding a way to stay smiling even after everything that has happened to her (which is quite a bit).

We wonder right now just how much of a story there is to tell for Arlene in just ten episodes since this is a shorter season than usual due to Anna Paquin giving birth late last year. Considering that Carrie Preston is an in-demand actress, though, we’re sure that the writers still gave her a story that maximizes however much time that she does have in the season, even if she is not the driving force behind every episode.
