‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 finale spoilers: ‘Huge’ things lie ahead for April

If you love April on “Grey’s Anatomy,” you know that you are not alone. The character has long had a pretty devoted fanbase, and for whatever reason that has only amplified since the romance with Jackson first started to kick off near the end of last season.

So after all that she has been through with Matthew, are there going to be a few nuggets of hope coming up for the finale? At the moment, you have to hope for something that will excite us about her storyline yet again, and based on what Shonda Rhimes is saying now (at least according to TVLine), we are in fact going to have a story that delivers quite an emotional punch in the final two weeks of the season:

“Something happens for April that is fairly life-changing. And then in the finale, all of that is brought into question in a huge way.”

This is not a confirmation of anything at all that is Jackson-related, but we have to believe that Rhimes will throw us some sort of bone there. While they may not get back together, it is the oldest trick in the TV book to at least give someone a small taste, that way they can start to become excited for something more a little later on down the line.

Of course, we don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves here. There is still one more story to get through before that episode even airs.
