Fire Country season 1 episode 20: What happened to Vince’s dad?
When we were first introduced to this character, he was ailing in some ways. He needed an operation, but he also came harboring some secrets. Take, for example, that Vince previously cheated on Sharon. The look on Luke’s face upon hearing this certainly said a lot, didn’t it? What made this even crazier is that Vince still needed his dad’s help after a mine got blocked, causing many people to be trapped inside. As Sharon noted, the guy has the mind of a steel trap.
In the aftermath of Walter’s confession, Luke made it clear that he no longer regretted hitting on Sharon — instead, he wished he had done it sooner. This revelation opened up a LOT of old wounds between the two.
Unfortunately, we don’t think that there was too much more resolution beyond this for now — or even with the health of Vince’s dad. There wasn’t a lot of time to wrap stuff up here due to what was going on elsewhere with Bode and Sleeper. There’s a chance that this gets revisited next week — if nothing else, we know the show is coming back for a season 2. That means that there will be plenty of opportunities to dive more into these dynamics.
Of course, the biggest thing that we’ve learned about the Leone family over time is that it’s complicated. We have a hard time thinking that this is going to change, no matter what the conversations with Vince and Luke are like moving forward. We certainly think we will see more of Vince, as well.
