‘The Following’ finale spoilers: Emma’s role in stopping Ryan

As entertaining and as stuffed full of twists and turns as the first few episodes of “The Following” were this season, they are probably not going to hold a candle to what Kevin Williamson and company have planned for the upcoming “Final Chapter” airing on Monday night. This is a show that is not even remotely looking to shy away from drama or intensity. There will likely be more death ahead, and this could be one of the last chances that Ryan Hardy has to stop Joe Carroll while also keeping Claire and his own partner Parker safe.

Unfortunately, the sneak peek below reminds us that Joe is not the only person that Hardy is going to have to deal with: There is also Emma. One of the more notorious followers stops him in the sneak peek below, and forces him to discard his gun and his phone if he hopes to ever see Claire again, and if he has some sort of vested interest in not dying (which we are sure is the case).

So will Emma be successful in stopping him? It’s possible, and if nothing else, she may be able to keep Ryan from accomplishing everything he needs to. There is only a small window of time for him to try and save Parker, and if his feelings for Claire get in the way, it is possible that we will end up looking at an either / or scenario here.
