‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 finale spoilers: Chandra Wilson on Bailey’s future
We know that Miranda Bailey on “Grey’s Anatomy” is certainly going through some incredibly tough times at the moment, as she is struggling to figure out whether or not she is going to survive the pain of the CDC investigation.
At the end of the day, though, this may not be the only problem that the character has on the show moving forward. Thanks to the plane crash and the settlement, many of the other doctors who were once her co-workers are now in some ways her bosses, and that is an extremely uncomfortable position for her to be in – suddenly have to look up to people who really did not earn their position by their own volition, even if they did go through a collectively tragic experience.
Speaking in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chandra Wilson had the following to say about the sense of awkwardness her character is going to experience moving forward:
“It is quite possible — even more than the audience questioning, she’s got big ole question marks about her future. She’s been questioning things about her future anyway [since] her colleagues became her boss … It’s basically her and Alex Karev who aren’t invested financially. It’s an interesting position for her to be in.”
As much as we saw her story move forward during “Sleeping Monster” this past week, this is going to be a slow, steady process. Translation? Don’t expect to get answers on Bailey’s future until the time the finale airs on May 16.
Do you think that Dr. Bailey is going to be a part of the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital when the show picks up, or do you genuinely think that it is in her best interest to take her talents elsewhere?
