NBC’s ‘The Office’ series finale spoilers: Showrunner shares basic premise
Over the past few weeks, we have started to see the beginning of the end for “The Office,” as some of the characters are getting the opportunity to finally see the documentary about themselves that they have been shooting all of this time.
So if you flash forward to the series finale, what is going to be happening then? Based on what we are hearing now, it sounds as though we will have an opportunity to witness a little bit more reflection from these people, especially as they start to realize that people are actually watching the documentary now, as compared to promos for it being on the internet. Speaking to TVLine on this very subject, here is what executive producer Greg Daniels had to say:
“A lot of [the episode] deals with the aftermath of the documentary airing [and] what it does to their world … That said, there’s also a lot of closure on big characters.”
Some of the characters you can almost surely expect to see a definite “ending” for are Jim and Pam, Andy and (possibly) Erin, Dwight and Angela, and some of the other familiar faces that aren’t often thought of as having another half of the show. Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak are each also due to make one more appearance together, which is the first time that we have seen that since the very beginning of the season.
As for Steve Carell, there are still rumors … but it’s best to not get your hopes up, that way you can be surprised if it happens.
