‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 4: Listen to Sasha Pieterse’s new single

AlisonWho knew that there was such an interest in country music from the cast of “Pretty Little Liars”? You’ve likely heard the headlines that Lucy Hale has an album coming up in the genre, and we now have a pretty fun counter-culture country track coming in from Sasha Pieterse.

Pieterse is best known for playing the (deceased?) Alison DiLaurentis on the ABC Family drama, and she recently released a track on iTunes (which you can buy here) with a pretty fantastic title attached to it. The lyrics itself are bold and surprising, as she sings about the notion that it’s suddenly become “uncool” to be patriotic, and that we are living in a “United States of Me” culture where everyone wants to have things gifted to them rather than to receive them as a result of hard work. When country music as a genre is often so ripe to stereotypes, it is rather refreshing to really see a composition (especially from a young singer) that actually carries a message to go along with it.

“Pretty Little Liars” boss Marlene King has already promised that there will be more of Pieterse in the upcoming season, regardless of whether or not Alison is really alive or is actually the woman otherwise known as “Red Coat.” We know that there is a much greater story here to tell than what is currently known, but this is one of those occasions where it is almost impossible to really speculate on anything given the lack of concrete information. Thankfully, the June 11 premiere date really is not so far away.

What do you think about Pieterse’s song? Be sure to share your thoughts below. In case you are wondering, Hale’s music will also be out a little later in the spring.  If you want to see who the latest man is on the scene in Rosewood, be sure to check out the story over here.
