‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 finale spoilers: A few more details on the path ahead
If you remember back to late last week, “Grey’s Anatomy” executive producer Shonda Rhimes revealed what may to many be some pretty devastating news: after saying at first that the season finale this year was going to in no way be as heavy as what we saw with the plane crash 2012, the writers have gone back and changed everything. Now, the finale is once again shrouded in mystery, and it’s possible that there could be some more tragedy coming up for our favorite Seattle doctors.
Sadly, the sort of details we are getting on the road ahead right now are such things as what consulting producer Dan Bucatinsky said recently to TVLine, which really just tells us that this will be much less of a standalone episode than what we saw from the plane crash finale last year:
“The last two episodes of the season work together as a giant two-week finale.”
Bucatinsky also wrote the episode prior to these two episodes in “Do You Believe in Magic,” and was thus able to spill a little bit more scoop when it comes to what takes place there:
“[It’s] an exploration of magic. The magic of medicine, and also the magic of romance and the ways in which the revelation of a secret can play both as a blessing or a curse.”
What does this fairly vague explanation really mean? We’re really not quite sure, since there are only a few storylines that we are fairly certain will carry through until the end of the season:
1. Meredith’s pregnancy, and the possibility that she could be a carrier for Alzheimer’s.
2. Whether or not Alex actually admits to having feelings for Jo.
3. Jackson and April dealing with the continually-complicated relationship.
