‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 18 preview: Patrick Dempsey as peacekeeper
On Thursday night’s new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy,” things are going to get ugly … but not necessarily between one doctor or another. Instead, Shane is going to end up getting a heavy dose of on-the-job training courtesy of a family member who is not particularly pleased with the job that he is doing.
Can you feel for Gaius Charles’ character in watching this brief sneak peek below? It’s hard not to. After all, he seems like the sort of guy that would really do just about anything to help a patient, but sometimes the truth is that there is really nothing that you can do that equates to enough. Instead, you just end up facing angry family members who don’t quite understand the work that you have put in, and believe thanks to their own deluge of emotions that they are suddenly the only person with a family member in urgent need of care.
Luckily, someone is present who knows a thing or two about having to deal with these sort of people: Patrick Dempsey’s Derek. He is quick to step in and try to break up the fight, but we only imagine that he is only going to be able to keep things at bay for so long.
Then again, Derek also has some brand-new issues to deal with … including the fact that he is now a part-owner in a hospital, and this is going to suddenly eat up a good percentage of both his time and his resources.
