‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8, episode 19 preview: Barney makes Ted an offer

There are few things in this world that Barney Stinson  on “How I Met Your Mother” holds to be sacred: his collection of suits, his relationship with Robin, the sport (that’s right: the sport) of laser tag, and of course the bachelor pad that he has called home for so many years. There have been so many plays run in here that the New York Giants would get confused, and he almost views it as the equivalent of having a giant trophy case that he just so happens to live in.

Unfortunately, there’s a problem coming up for Neil Patrick Harris’ character: Robin has no interest whatsoever in calling this apartment home as Barney’s wife. This leads to the man trying to initiate a legendary search in order to try to find the perfect person to take over his place. Unfortunately for him, his first choice (in Ted) does not seem even remotely interested based on the promo below … and why would he be, given that the place that he has is just fine? We have a hard time really figuring out just who is going to be in this place, since we don’t see too many of Barney’s other friends (if he has them) outside of Ted and Marshall.

In addition to this, there is also another challenge that Barney accepts from Robin: finding a new place that he does not have some sort of history with involving another woman. Of course, this is completely over-the-top as all things Barney are, but it’s sure to be very entertaining.
