TNT’s ‘Dallas’ season 2 spoilers: Who shows up at J.R. Ewing’s funeral?

DallasEver since the sad news was first unveiled that “Dallas” was going to be saying goodbye to J.R. Ewing during their March 11 episode, there have been questions regarding just what characters would end up turning up in order to say goodbye to someone who is an undisputed legend in the world of television. Larry Hagman had made many friends over the years with this iconic character, and many of them are going to turn up to send him off on the show.

According to TV Guide, there are a number of people familiar to the City of Dallas itself, including Mayor Mike Rawlings and sports team owners Jerry Jones (the Cowboys) and Mark Cuban (the Mavericks)who end up making an appearance. All three were kind enough to shift around their schedules at the last minute, likely understanding how the show has in many ways given a new mystique to the city.

Meanwhile, Deborah Shelton and Cathy Podewell are two of the stars of the original series who are going to be coming back to help send J.R. off, and they won’t be the other hands. However, we can tell you right now that due to scheduling, the likes of Priscilla Presley, Susan Howard, and Victoria Principal were unable to take part. Executive producer Michael M. Robin explained to the publication just what the show’s rationale was in trying to find faces from the past to turn back up:

“There were certain people we reached out to who just weren’t available … But anyone from the past could show up when a storyline makes sense.”

We are going to have a good bit more content to share when it comes to this episode over the next 48 hours, so be sure to stay tuned for more of that. Meanwhile, you can check out a new sneak peek for now over at the link here.
