‘Hart of Dixie’ season 2 spoilers: How will Lavon help Zoe and Wade now?

Hart of DixieTimes have clearly changed in Bluebell following Tuesday night’s “Hart of Dixie.” It seemed for quite a while that Zoe and Wade were actually going to work their unlikely relationship out; but then, things hit the skids courtesy of a breakup that no one really saw coming. We had all wanted to believe that Wade was a character who had really changed from his womanizing ways, only to later realize that this was not fully the case yet. Was he growing as a person and this was a one-time mistake, or are we just projecting on him the person that we want him to be? These are questions that will hopefully be answered in the months ahead.

One person who is surely going to have a role to play in all of this? Cress Williams’ Lavon, thanks to the relationships that he already has with the characters. Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, the actor explained why his character is going to be torn when it comes to how to handle this, since he has two people that he effectively has to find ways to support:

“He’s been Wade’s friend for years and believes he’s got so much potential … But Lavon’s also seen him undercut it time and time again. And then here’s Zoe, his best friend, and the fact that she’s hurt. It’s like part [of him] wants to shake the child [Wade] and say, ‘You can be so much better!’ but he’s also angry about him hurting his best friend.”

Wilson Bethel also shared his thoughts on the breakup, and he admits that it was rather hard for him to swallow based on how close he has gotten to the character:

“I’ve developed a very strong relationship with Wade over the last year-and-a-half, and it’s like seeing a really good friend do something wrong, you know? There’s an emotional impact that it has on you. But the question is, what happens from here — and a lot of that remains to be seen. It’s a little heartbreaking.”

What do you think: will Zoe and Wade get back together by the end of the season? If you want to watch a new preview for the next new “Hart of Dixie” episode, you can do so over at the link here.
