‘Bones’ season 8 spoilers: David Boreanaz teases ‘shocking’ end to season

Last summer, “Bones” star David Boreanaz (who plays Booth on the popular Fox series) hinted on his Twitter account that he was getting a little restless with his character on the show, so now that the series has been renewed for season 9 what have the producers come up with to help challenge Boreanaz as an actor?

In a new interview with TVLine, Boreanaz said that he sat down with producers and together they came up with a new focus for his character – something that really excites him.  So what will they be focusing on in season 9?  He said: “We’ve never really focused on the hardcore truth of what Booth goes through on an everyday basis, just as far as being a [former] soldier and the pain he endures. His health problems may come to fruition…. There might be a traumatic experience that he’s got to deal with personally…. Maybe we’ll see more of that kind of stuff.”

When it comes to his relationship with Brennan he said that as much as Booth loves her, having a child can be difficult, so if viewers think that they are going to float along on a placid sea of romance and babies you better think again.  He said: “There are always romantic moments between me and her. I think that they’ll be a little tense, they’ll be a little tested. The interesting part about their relationship right now is that everyone seems to think, ‘Oh, they have a baby and it’s going to be calm.’ Well, I think it’s just the opposite.”

As for the conclusion of “Bones” season 8, Boreanaz teases that things are going to get “interesting” and that it’s going to be “very shocking and fun”.  As for what that “shocking” conclusion could be, he wasn’t willing to give up the goods, so be sure to tune in Monday’s at 8 p.m. on Fox to see how it all unfolds.  If you missed last night’s episode of “Bones” and want to know what happened, then be sure to read our review of the episode here and tell us what you think.
