‘All-Star Celebrity Apprentice’: Gary Busey, Lisa Rinna spar in first trailer (video)
In conjunction with NBC’s Television Critics Association panel on Sunday, the network has finally released a first look at a show that a good many people out there are beyond excited to see: “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice.” The show will feature the return of 14 of the most-popular stars to be on the show … or at least 13 of them and Claudia Jordan. (Seriously? Why is she here?) The cast is a little bit of a mixed bag, since Dee Snider and reality TV staple Stephen Baldwin are also a little bit questionable.
While we don’t so much love the idea of returning celebrities to this show, the trailer at least makes it look as though there is once again going to be plenty of crazy. Gary Busey and Lisa Rinna are going to fight, and once again Trace Adkins is going to fill that role of the nice guy with the southern charm. Is there any way that this season is not Trace’s to win right now? If you take away the obvious cannon fodder at the moment (Gary, Dennis Rodman, La Taya Jackson), then your list of contenders is much smaller. You can shorten this once again once you consider that Lisa was eliminated early last time, and we just can’t see Dee or Omorosa (who is competing for the third time) having it them to pull this off.
Right now, the biggest threats to us to take this competition home are Brande Roderick (who went far the first time), Trace, and the crazy genius known as Penn Jillette. There is also a wild card in here in Bret Michaels, but he swings for the fences every week and sooner or later, this will come back to bite him.
While at TCA, NBC’s Robert Greenblatt also had the following comment to make about Trump’s controversial political views, and whether or not these would have any major impact on the season:
“We live in this country where you can say anything you want as long as you are not harming other people. He has his political belief system but I really don’t think what he’s doing in his personal life is going to corrupt what he’s doing on the show. [However,] if he becomes somehow hurtful and says or does things that cross a line, we would figure out what to do with that.”
If you want to see who we think were snubbed from the show, you can do so over at the link here. This show will premiere on Sunday, March 3.
