‘Elementary’ spoilers: Get ready to meet Sherlock’s biggest nemesis

Although it has been a lot of fun watching Holmes solving crimes on “Elementary” (with Watson’s help of course) there has been one major element missing from the show – a big bad that Holmes is battling through out the season.  We love the episodic scheme that’s been set up, but now that we are getting to know more about Holmes and watching his friendship with Watson develop, it would be great to have someone that can give Holmes a bit of a challenge, since watching him be a super detective every week will get boring soon enough.  So will there be a big bad coming soon that will give Holmes a run for his money?

Looks like on the second episode airing in the new year (on January 10th) we will finally get to meet “M” (or Moriarty), a British criminal who has long been Holmes’ nemesis back in London.  “M” will follow Holmes to New York, but for what reason? Do Holmes and “M” have some unfinished business?  That remains to be seen, but we are over the moon excited with Vinnie Jones guest starring as “M” and can’t wait to see what he does with the character.

During this episode we will also finally learn what’s going to happen to Holmes and Watson as her time with the great detective is over.  She will have a few reservations about leaving Holmes and moving on to a new client, but since the series can’t split up Holmes and Watson what is the other alternative? Spoilers have revealed that Holmes will offer Watson an apprenticeship with him, which is really rather interesting since in the last episode he went to bat for her and defended her choice to become a sober companion to her parents. Guess Holmes wants what he wants, doesn’t he?
