‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: Rachel Bilson to return

Remember when we said last night that there would be another character returning to “How I Met Your Mother” season 8 that would help bring us closer to finding out who is the mother? Well, it turns out that some of our predictions about this mystery woman turned out to be correct.

In a new post on Twitter, the show’s key makeup artist Jennifer Turchi announced that both Ray Wise (Robin’s father) and none other than Rachel Bilson would be returning to the show in upcoming episodes. It is Bilson’s character of Cindy who is likely the most important to the main story of the show, as she is famously the roommate (or at this point possibly the ex-roommate) of the Mother from earlier this series. She also dated Ted for a time, but on her last appearance it was discovered that she is actually in a relationship now with a woman.

It’s lucky that Bilson was able to take enough time off of “Hart of Dixie” in order to even make an appearance on the show here, and while it is not clear just how she is going to help set Ted up with the Mother, she should at least provide some sort of link between the two characters. Maybe at this point Cindy has also gotten over some of her jealousy issues, as she was previously very insecure about her roommate being the one all of the guys were interested in rather than her.
