‘The Walking Dead’ season 3 spoilers: How will Rick fare against the Governor?
Only one more sleep until the mid-season finale of “The Walking Dead” season 3 airs and fans are already on the edge of their seat wondering how Rick and his group are going to fare against the Governor and his small army.
Rick has taken on some pretty big feats already, like clearing out the prison to make it a safe place for everyone to live, but in the past few seasons the only real threat they have had to face are the walkers, not hostile humans trying to destroy them for their supplies (and probably for the Governor’s own amusement as well). So will Rick and his crew meet their match when the get through the gates of Woodbury unharmed or will the Governor be shocked at the force and loyalty behind the small group?
Showrunner Glen Mazzara spoke to TV Guide about Rick facing off against the Governor and he said that the battle will be a tough one for Rick because not only will he be facing a lot of innocent people during the fight, but also Michonne isn’t really there to fight with Rick, she has her own agenda – to kill the Governor. He said;
“We know that Rick and Daryl took that prison. They know how to lead an assault [against walkers]. Now they’re going up against humans, innocent unsuspecting people, so it’s going to be very, very interesting. We know what fighters Rick, Daryl and Michonne are.”
The one wild card in all of this is Andrea. She was part of Rick’s group for a long time, but since being separated from them at Hershel’s farm, she has made a home for herself in Woodbury (and in the Governor’s bed) and is blind to the atrocities that are happening at the hands of the Governor behind the scenes. Mazzara says that her eyes will be opened on Sunday night’s episode:
“Andrea has no idea who’s knocking at the door. She has no idea that the Governor has any secrets, and that veil is going to be lifted in a huge way, and she’s going to be very, very shocked when she’s confronted with the true reality of the choices that she’s made.”
There are rumors that viewers will meet Tyrese (played by Chad Coleman) on Sunday’s episode – is it possible that he will come to Rick’s rescue if things go south for their group?Make sure you tune in on December 2 at 9 p.m. on AMC to find out all the answers to the massive “Walking Dead” season 3 cliffhanger they left us with last week.
