‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 8 preview: School’s in session

Are you ready to delve into the “Grey’s Anatomy” classroom? Let’s hope so, since this is really all that the ABC show bothered to let us seen in the latest promo for next week’s episode.

As entertaining as the promo is, there is starting to be a pretty disturbing pattern happening here when it comes to the show’s current strategy to bring in viewers: these videos are not giving an adequate portrayal at the moment of what the show is about. As a matter of fact, this video makes the upcoming episode look rather silly, and it also makes very little sense to place the focus on a group of characters (in the interns) that few people can even remember when it comes to names and details, save for at least Jo thanks to her interesting “relationship” with Alex.

There is no mention of Meredith’s pregnancy in this promo, or of what is happening moving forward when it comes to Cristina and Owen. To us, this is easily still the most interesting story of the bunch. These two do clearly still have feelings for each other, even though these feelings are currently being blocked courtesy of the issues that they face. We were already more than familiar with Cristina’s lack of interest in having a baby; but what compounds things on another level now is the knowledge that Owen may in some way been responsible for the plane crash that killed Lexie and Mark, and he has to keep quiet about it thanks to confidentiality clauses in the airline lawsuit.
