‘The Walking Dead’ season 3, episode 7 review: Glenn, Maggie survive Woodbury – barely
On last week’s episode of “The Walking Dead” season 3, we left our heroes, Glenn and Maggie, in a pretty rough spot in Woodbury as they were about to be tortured for the location of the prison by the Governor and Merle.
When we reconnected with Glenn and Maggie on tonight’s episode things were taking a turn for the worse for both of them. Maggie was locked in a room next to Glenn, listening in on Merle interrogating and beating him for information about where his brother is. When that doesn’t work, Merle brings a walker into the room and leaves him Glenn, but Glenn finds a way to smash the chair he’s tied to and uses a piece of it to stab the walker. Maggie on the other hand is in another room having a “chat” with the Governor. He tries to reason with her to get the location of the prison and when that doesn’t work, he tries to threaten her with rape. When that still doesn’t work he brings Maggie into a room with Glenn and trains his gun on Glenn until Maggie gives up the location of the prison.
The Governor has asked Andrea to work in the lab on a special project involving the study of a man that will turn into a walker after he passes on. The experiment was to see if the man would retain any of his memories of his life after he turns, but as we learned at the end of season one when the group went to that mega lab and we saw the brain scans of a walker, there is no possibility that they will remember and that’s exactly what happened with the experiment.
Back at the prison the walkers realize that Michonne is not one of them and start to attack her as Rick and Carl watch. She ends up passing out from exhaustion (and the bullet hole in her leg) and Rick decides to bring her into the prison. The treat her wound and she tells Rick and the group that Glenn and Maggie have been taken to Woodbury and are being held prisoner by the Governor. They decide to send a group out to Woodbury to bring Glenn and Maggie back and reach the strange town, just as the Governor gets the location of the prison.
Be sure to tune in next Sunday for the mid season finale of “The Walking Dead” season 3 where Rick and the Governor will face off at Woodbury. Who will survive, who will die, and who will be victorious? Leave us a comment and tell us what you think.
