Fuller House season 5: Bob Saget on emotional series finale
While you’re not going to get any details on those final episodes anytime soon (save for the fact that they are ending in 2020), we can at least give you a few more details sprinkled in here and there. Take, for example, how emotional it was doing the final scenes of the series behind the scenes. Speaking in a new interview with Us Weekly, here is some of what original Full House star Bob Saget had to say on the subject:
“We’ve stayed friends all these years. It’s not just a press thing that we say … To see them so accomplished and see three empowered women do a comedy kids show with morality lessons — it had those elements in the original series. I was more emotional about seeing them and being with them. It’s not the same show it used to be, but it can’t be.”
Of course, we also wonder if this emotional farewell is really a goodbye for a number of different reasons. For starters, remember the simple fact that Fuller House as a franchise may have some staying power still. It was popular on Netflix, it was a huge hit back with the original series, and in a few years, we could see HBO Max (which shares the same parent company with show studio Warner Bros. TV) wanting to give something more a try. We just wouldn’t bank on anything at the moment. After all, there’s no real reason to do that.
Now, let’s just hope that Fuller House lives up to some of the expectations that we’ve got as we near the final run for the series. There is a lot of great stuff to look forward to, and the show needs to put the final stamp on its legacy.
