NCIS season 17 spoilers: Could Cote de Pablo return for more episodes?
Yet, within this article, we’re going to do a little speculating beyond that, and for good reason! There are a lot of excellent stories and opportunities ahead, and there are also a large number of episodes coming beyond December and Cote’s return in the new year.

At the moment, things remain as mysterious as ever when it comes to Cote’s long-term future with the series — and the same goes for whether or not Tony could return. In speaking about a possible Tiva reunion with KTLA in a new interview (see below), Cote seems to suggest that such a thing could happen, but it doesn’t appear to be immediate. That makes sense, given that Michael Weatherly is currently filming Bull.
Does this interview suggest that Cote could come back beyond the aforementioned two episoides in December and January? We wouldn’t rule out that possibility, but we also do think it’s more than possible that she is simply being cryptic for the sake of building up excitement. We don’t foresee Tony returning in the December episode, but it could happen in the January one!
In the end, our feeling on it is this — if there’s no confirmation that Cote is going to come back after the January episode, it’s a big risk to take not having Tony appear at that time, if possible. With Michael and Cote’s collective schedules, it’s hard to figure out specific opportunities for such a reunion to happen down the road. It also has to be right in terms of timing for NCIS itself. There are, clearly, a lot of variables there that need to be worked out.
