Is Succession new tonight on HBO? The story to come
Let’s go ahead and answer that question now — no. There is no new episode of Succession coming up tonight, and the reason for that is rather simple. Last week was the season finale! That was a chance for the show to tie up some of its stories for the time being, and they chose to do that with a big flourish. After all, the closing minutes focused on seeing Kendall Roy, after being thrown under the bus by his own father, going after Logan publicly. This was a huge move, and one that could chance the future of the company forever.

Moving into season 3, there is a chance that we’re going to see a completely different paradigm. Think in terms of one where Kendall has a little bit more power … and one where Logan Roy’s future is in jeopardy. We’ll admit that there is a part of us that does wonder a little bit about whether or not Logan recognized that this was going to be happening, or if he could’ve predicted anything like this. It’s still hard to wrap your head around all of the different scenarios that could’ve led to Logan thinking that Kendall would be empowered enough to do something like this.
In the end, what we know at the moment is that Succession season 3 is going to be premiering at some point in 2020, save for some sort of dramatic change. It’s also fair to speculate that new episodes are going to be filming at some point later this year or early next. This is a show that HBO has a lot of stock in, and they’ll do everything in their power to make this upcoming batch of episodes great with the help of the creative team.
