Shameless season 10 promo, key art turn the Gallaghers into fighters
Both the new poster and promo below are meant to hype up the Gallagher family as “fighters” — you know, the sort of people who are going to embrace every single challenge and refuse to back away. Maybe that’s true since the Gallagher family does have a tendency to tackle every challenge and persevere. Yet, at the same time we’d argue that they suffer more self-inflicted injuries than almost any other family out there. They are frequently self-destructive and they seeming embrace the opportunity to make life more miserable for themselves at every chance that they can. It also doesn’t help that they have a patriarch in Frank who may very well be the worst patriarch known to mankind — he’s so intent on his schemes that he doesn’t take the time to realize that none of them ever work out.

We know that Shameless is down to give you some of the most over-the-top promo art imaginable, so we suppose that with that in mind, the series is continuing the trend here. It’s big, bold, and ridiculous, otherwise known as the sort of stuff that you would expect to see from them. It plays up the ridiculousness of this family and also their tendency to be both tough and also reckless.
Season 10 marks the first season of the series since the departure of Emmy Rossum, but the writers are looking to make up for that loss in some other ways. Take, for example, the return of Ian as a full-time character, in addition to Mickey coming back for a major role for the first time in a while. Meanwhile, Tami is going to be a major part of the story this year — you can always tell such things by a performer’s inclusion in the official art.
