Outlander notes: The latest on Sam Heughan, photo analysis
In a new post on his Instagram Stories, you can see a small taste of what’s going on with Sam this weekend as he works on yet another job separate from the Starz series. This includes doing ADR work on the upcoming movie SAS Red Notice, which humorously included a lot of heavy breathing following some intense action sequences.
What is ADR work? For those who don’t know, this is how movie directors often fill in the cracks — and get various sounds and lines that are hard to get in production. Sometimes, this includes things like heavy breathing; other times, it may be a line that is said by a character off-screen. Both TV series and movies often utilize this after the end of principal production; Sam finished filming SAS Red Notice proper prior to the start of season 5 production. Hopefully, there will be some more news on it soon.
Sam has managed to balance out various tasks better than almost anyone over the past few years; this is another example of how he’s doing it now. He’s still working full-time over on Outlander, but also still finding a way in order to ensure that he takes advantage of some other opportunities. This includes, as well, his work on the movie Bloodshot, which is premiering in the new year.
Outlander season 5 is going to premiere in the new year, and you are going to see a lot of different stories featuring Sam in it. That includes what is present in the photo above, which is Jamie wrestling with some difficult decisions in regards to Murtagh. This is a reminder that Jamie doesn’t want to turn his back on his family; he won’t do it, pending some last-second turnaround for his character. There is a look of concern on Jamie’s face, whereas Murtagh looks reassuring … kind of ironic given that he is the one in the most danger.
