Jersey Shore Family Vacation: Ronnie Ortiz-Magro arrested; new dispute

It’s unfortunately starting to become a broken record — Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, best known for Jersey Shore Family Vacation, is in trouble with the law. For him and his on-again, off-again girlfriend Jen Harley, it’s been this way for a while. It’s been documented in headlines, and it’s been documented in the MTV show.

The latest headlines may be some of the ugliest ones that we’ve had a chance to see yet. According to a report from TMZ, Ronnie was put into handcuffs overnight — and tased — after a situation where he reportedly would not let the police into his home after a domestic dispute. The charges that are out there are severe, including that Ronnie allegedly chased her away from an Airbnb they were staying at with a knife in his hand, and that he later refused to allow anyone to enter the home where he was alongside his 18-month daughter Ariana. The police eventually broke down the door, and Ronnie was then tased and charged with kidnapping. He has since been released from prison.

The sad irony is that mere hours before this incident happened, there were headlines all about Ronnie and Jen being back together and everything being okay — then, more chaos. Such is the way of things at the moment with this relationship.

Few of Ronnie’s co-stars have at the moment spoken out about the latest incident, but at a certain point, you do have to question his future on the show — while Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was kept on board during his prison sentence, we’re talking about a very different sort of situation there. This is one that is so serious, and ongoing, that you have to question if being in the public eye is the best thing. We’ve already seen social media be used and/or weaponized at times for various arguments between the two.

Also, we may be past the point now where we can look at a “Ronpage” as this fun story device to drive entertaining television. Jen’s got her own share of allegations and past incidents, and in between the two of them, this is clearly just a messy situation — one that it may not be best for either party to partake in anymore.
