‘Blue Bloods’: Jennifer Esposito, CBS at odds over absence from show
There is some major drama brewing on the set of “Blue Bloods” at this very moment, but it really does not have anything at all to do with the actual story on the show.
Instead, a pretty heated war of words is starting up between Jennifer Esposito (who is the partner to Donnie Wahlberg’s character) and studio CBS TV over the medically related circumstances surrounding her sudden departure from the show. The actress’ final episode for the time being is set to air on November 2, but she has made it clear in several ways that she wants to be back on the show as soon as possible. The problem in her eyes? That the network is not allowing it to happen.
Let’s start with what CBS originally said about the actress, who suffers from Celiac disease, in a statement per Deadline:
“Jennifer has informed us that she is only available to work on a very limited part-time schedule … As a result, she’s unable to perform the demands of her role and we regretfully had to put her character on a leave of absence.”
Now, take a look at what is Esposito’s heated reply:
“CBS knows PUT me on unpaid leave an has blocked me from working anywhere else after my doc said u needed a reduced schedule due to celiac …CBS didn’t listen to my doc and I collapsed on set. Which everyone saw! After a week off my doc said I could return to work but CBS … Implied that I was NOT truly ill and this was a scheme to get a raise! It’s been almost two months without bringing me back to work + keeping… Me from working anywhere else! So no that article is not telling you the truth. Absolutely shameful behavior … If you feel this is unjust use your voice. That’s all we have sometimes … I love you all for the support need to rest now the whole situation brakes my heart. Xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo”
We will keep track of this story as more news develops; for now, what do you think about what is being reported out there?

Bring back Jennifer Esposito to the show! (Blue Bloods). She has brought alot to the success of this program. How can you guys be so rude and unfair to thus wonderful actress. I miss her character on the show, and Donny looks out of place without her. You guys have made a huge mistake!!!! How can you fault her for having this disease? Bring her back, or I for one will be changing stations on Friday Nights.
