‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 5 spoilers: Kurt Sutter dives again into the FX well
Really, there are a number of things that we admittedly love about “Sons of Anarchy,” but one of them has to be executive producer Kurt Sutter’s habit of casting interesting and unexpected actors for key roles. In addition to that, he’s also not afraid to bring on people who are already familiar to FX audiences. Take for instance earlier this season, when we saw a surprising cameo from Walton Goggins as a transgender woman who ended up planting a kiss on Jax.
So who is joining the show this time? It’s none other than former “Terriers” star Donal Logue, who (according to Entertainment Weekly) is going to play a former U.S. Marshall named Lee Toric who also happened to be thrust into early retirement thanks in part to him having a history of violence. This casting was first announced by the actor himself, who posted the following message in a post on his Twitter account:
“Lucky 2B part of amazing finish on this seasons’s Sons of Anarchy [Creator Kurt Sutter] pushing TV boundaries-shockingly awesome stuff coming down pike.”
Some of the other notable guest stars for this season include Joel McHale of “Community” playing a con man, and also “Ink Master” host Dave Navarro playing a gang member. We’re not sure that there is a show out there with a riskier cast, and this is also one of the reasons why we are so excited to see what someone whose most recent hit was in a cult favorite comedy in this environment.
