STAR season 3 episode 18 (finale) spoilers: ‘When the Levee Breaks’
Next week, STAR season 3 episode 18 — otherwise known as the big finale — is going to be coming up on Fox. Suffice it to say, this one is big. Think really big. This is one for the ages — it’s not often that a network just goes ahead and tells you that there’s going to be a big cliffhanger at the end of it, but that’s precisely what you’re getting here. This is an episode entitled “When the Levee Breaks,” but this story is a little bit more about when characters break. Or, when characters fall apart. This could be the most chaotic episode in the show’s history, and we don’t say that lightly. We know some of the crazy stuff that this show has brought to past finales (and midseason finales, mind you).
So what’s the story gonna be here? Think in terms of a sprawling narrative all about musical battles, Alex preparing for a huge moment in her life, and also huge decisions across the board. There will be some resolution, most likely, but we don’t think that the STAR writers are off somewhere sweating with a whole lot of pressure. They know already that there is a season 4 probably coming their way — we’re kinda shocked, admittedly, that it hasn’t been announced yet. What is Fox waiting for? It probably just has to do with all of the change-over at the network this year, since it certainly doesn’t have to do with how this show is performing in comparison to a number of other shows they go. Just enjoy the story for now and try to push the other stuff out of your head.

Here’s really the only question left to ask — what is the “bang” that is talked about here? Obviously, a “bang” can represent a lot of different stuff. Sometimes, it can be a shock; other times, it can come out of the other barrel of a gun. No matter what your read on it is, the one thing that we know is this — it’s going to be the sort of thing that you’re talking about on the other side of this season finale.
