The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 19 return date: Regina King returns!

Within this article, we’ve got for you the official The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 19 return date — and beyond that, some simply-outstanding guest-starring news. When the comedy returns to CBS on Thursday, April 18, you’re going to see Regina King stop by in the role of Janine!

It’s been a little while since we’ve had a chance to see the Leftovers and American Crime alum on the show as the woman basically in charge of keeping everyone in line. Running Human Resources is not easy. What’s also not easy? Probably getting Regina King back at all given that we’re talking about an Oscar winner and one of the most notable actresses to ever appear on the show. It’s totally cool for her to come back for at least one last run on the show, especially since we’ve always felt like she both deserved more burn and more opportunities to put Sheldon in his place.

Alas, we don’t have too clear of an indication as to how King’s character is going to be used within this episode, mostly because the Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 19 synopsis  doesn’t give a whole lot away:

“The Inspiration Deprivation” – The concept of what it would mean for women everywhere if Amy were to win a Nobel Prize causes Amy to have a meltdown. Also, Koothrappali and Wolowitz try to relive the good old days after Wolowitz buys a scooter that looks like the one he had years ago, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, April 18(8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Oscar-winning actress Regina King returns as Janine.

Given that we are so close now from the end of the show, we’re not surprised that the word “Nobel Prize” is being thrown around. Obviously, anyone within the science community would probably be thrilled over the opportunity to receive something like this. Yet, we also do think that what Amy is feeling here in this moment probably speaks very much to something that a lot of people in her situation would — a panic. You want success, but will it change your life? Will it change you? Will you feel like a fraud? Can you handle the pressure? For Amy, she has to also handle the questions about what her win would mean for women — it’s great to be an ambassador, but it’s also difficult when some may try to proclaim you suddenly the spokesperson for all women in science and you may not feel that way.

When it comes to the Howard / Raj storyline, does anyone else feel like this sounds almost like something that would happen in a clip show? We’re not saying we’re getting that, but this entire story seems devised to be the sort of thing that injects a lot of nostalgia in your veins.
