Shameless season 9 episode 9 preview: Frank, Ingrid expecting … six kids?

Do you want to know what lies ahead when it comes to Shameless season 9 episode 9? Expect more craziness, but also characters doing what they can in order to evolve. We do think that this is the time for some serious development and progression … but there will also be comedy. This show is still meant to be funny, though there is some dark stuff happening at present. Take, for example, the downward spiral of Fiona. There was a time when it felt like she was actually moving forward but now, she’s more or less at rock bottom.

Below, CarterMatt offers up the official Shameless season 9 episode 9 synopsis to get some more information as to what lies ahead:

Frank searches for ways to finance Ingrid’s vision for their future together. Fiona’s anger issues cause problems at Patsy’s. Lip is forced to confront his real feelings for Tami. Kelly’s father attempts to get in the middle of her relationship with Carl. Kev and V realize they are in over their heads with their latest fostering endeavor.

After watching the preview following tonight’s new episode, it does feel like there’s one story that will stand out more so than any other: Watching Frank and Ingrid realize that the two are expecting SIX kids. That’s problematic — very problematic. Frank basically failed at raising all of his kids already, and what was with having time in between many of them being bored. What makes him think that he’ll be able to do this now? There’s zero evidence of this working out, and that’s without even bringing up the fact that these kids are not actually Frank’s. Instead, it was Carl who ended up provided the seed unknowingly.

As for the other relationships…

We do think that there’s a chance that either Tami/Lip or Kelly/Carl will work out — though the pairings are also certainly dysfunctional. Kelly and Carl seems like a classic case of her trying to rebel against her father. Meanwhile, Tami may be trying to get Lip to change a little bit more than he is actually comfortable with. The Gallaghers have been living one way (the Gallagher way) for a rather long period of time now; it’s going to be really hard for them to think about things in any other manner.
