Poldark season 5 premiere date hopes for Aidan Turner, cast on PBS

Let’s kick off this piece with a reminder that filming for Poldark season 5 is currently happening! Beyond just that, production on the series has been going on for most of the fall. More than likely, filming will wrap over the next few months and in the aftermath of that, we’re going to see a long period of hype and speculation leading up to the premiere.
If you are located in the United Kingdom, the premiere is probably coming a little bit sooner than it is elsewhere — think along the lines of the summer. That tends to be when Poldark airs these days and given the current filming timeline, there’s no reason to have to wait for the to come back beyond that (other than, of course, the BBC wanting to torment its viewers).
As for viewers stateside, odds are that Poldark season 5 will arrive on PBS in the fall. This is the trend that has been established already and we have a rather-hard time thinking that this is something that is going to change. Why would it when things are working rather well for the network?
The sad news that comes along with season 5 is the fact that this is the final season — it’s already been promoted as such and regrettably, it’s really hard to see that changing. These episodes should offer up a chance to tie together at least most of the source material from the Winston Graham books. Maybe there could be something left over for a movie or something else down the line, but it would have to be FAR down the line. Some of these actors are already trying to play so much older than they are in real life and that’s probably going to be something that only escalates as we continue to watch the remainder of the series. Ideally, the cast could come together in about ten years, but even that may not compensate for the time jump that would be necessary to continue things.
For now, it’s fair to consider Poldark season 5 to be the end. Along the way, fingers crossed that there is a chance for many of your favorites to have something that constitutes at least a reasonable amount of closure. Ross and Demelza need to be happy! Haven’t they had enough sadness and pain to last ten lifetimes?
