New Amsterdam episode 6 preview: Max Goodwin’s fundraising gala
In the past with this series, we’ve had a chance to see the character handle problems at the hospital on the ground level. Yet, next week Max will have to get out in front of many potential donors and sell it to them. He has to become more of a salesman, and that’s not exactly his best overall skill. We predict that this will be more of a challenge for him, especially when he also needs to personally connect to some of the familiar members for people he already knows. There’s a lot that is going on here, and that is without even mentioning his treatment … otherwise known as the biggest thing that is really impacting him. That’s the quiet struggle, and the big thing that is defining the series more so than anything else.

10/30/2018 (10:01PM – 11:00PM) (Tuesday) : The pressure is on as Max (Ryan Eggold) takes on his first annual fundraising gala at the hospital and emotions are high as some of the doctor’s families join them for the event. Iggy (Tyler Labine) struggles to break difficult news to his daughter and Bloom (Janet Montgomery) and Reynolds (Jocko Sims) continue to deal with the fallout of their argument. Meanwhile, Kapoor (Anupam Kher) and Dr. Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) work together to find out what is making a father and son duo so sick. Guest starring Ron Rifkin as Dean Fulton, Lisa O’Hare as Georgia, Margot Bingham as Evie, Mike Doyle as Martin McIntyre, Alejandro Hernandez as Casey, Olga Merediz as Warden Gloria Salazar, Dierdre Friel as Ella, Christine Chang as Agnes Kao, Ethan Phillips as Dan and Gregory Perri as Christopher.
As per usual, and just like Max Goodwin himself, New Amsterdam is going to be taking on quite a few things at one time. We’ll see whether or not it actually pays off.
