Sneaky Pete season 3 spoilers: Comedian Jeff Ross scores recurring role
According to a report coming in via Deadline, Comedy Central Roast star and stand-up comedian Jeff Ross has been booked in a recurring role for the upcoming third season of Sneaky Pete. As for his role, he will take on the part of Doug Decker, also known as DC Doug. He is a guy who is very much involved in the world of politics. He runs a lot of things behind the scenes, and beyond that, he has a certain penchant for the finer things in life. (Take, for example, expensive wine.)
We imagine that Ross is going to bring a great deal of his signature humor to this role, but also some snarkiness and a different vibe than we are used to from him. We think that casting comedians in semi-dramatic roles can often be interesting, mostly because of the fact that these performers go through so much training to hone their craft. They are versatile, they are hard workers, and they are often used to rolling with the punches. Many of these skills work very well in the acting world, especially since they are used to doing a lot of repetition. They understand that they may not be able to nail a line the first time, largely because it rarely happens for comedians that way.
Alas, we are still going to be waiting for a good while in order to see Sneaky Pete season 3 on the air. While the latest batch of episodes is currently filming, there is no projected premiere date at the moment beyond at some point in 2019. That’s a decision that Amazon is likely going to make at some point in the new year … but hopefully, it will be worth the wait.
