The Good Doctor season 2 episode 2 spoilers: Shaun, Dr. Melendez at odds

What’s coming up after The Good Doctor and its season 2 premiere on Monday? That’s what this article is about, since we have some more information here on the second episode of the season. This October 1 episode carries with it the title of “Middle Ground,” and over the course of it you are going to see Shaun continue to build confidence, even if that means getting into conflict with some other doctors in the process. Take, for example, Dr. Melendez. The two are going to be at odds during this episode over how to deal with someone at the St. Bonaventure Hospital in desperate need of help — someone who could otherwise be forgotten.

As Shaun pushes back against Dr. Melendez in order to treat a gravely ill hospital janitor and deal with the return of Lea, Dr. Lim risks a lawsuit and her career to help a teenage girl repair the damage caused by an archaic custom. Meanwhile, Dr. Glassman exercises demanding oversight with Dr. Blaize in choosing a doctor for his brain surgery.

The idea of Dr. Glassman being controlling isn’t exactly a hard thing to process — meanwhile, Lea’s return could be a little bit harder for Shaun since he’ll be forced to confront some of his feelings again. It’s still not entirely clear how much he thought about her after she left for Pennsylvania — he’s not always one to vocalize his feelings and because of the nature of his job, he’s also not left to really think about them for a substantial period of time. This could bring everything back, which could be good for his humanity — but we also don’t expect them to get into a relationship right away.
