Suits season 8 episode 9 to feature return of an ‘old foe’

One of the things that we like already about Suits season 8 episode 9, based on early details, is how it will reference the past. The September 12 episode is entitled “Motion to Delay,” and it will emphasize the show’s almost comic-book quality. One of the things that is cool about the series sometimes is that it does have these distinct adversaries; they are almost like a rogues’ gallery of villains who can be brought back whenever it works for the story. They’re not often pure evil, though; they’re just self-interested and business-minded, and that does put them in opposition much of the time to Harvey, Louis, and many other members of the Zane Specter Litt team.

Below, the Suits season 8 episode 9 synopsis offers up some more news when it comes to what’s ahead — though it doesn’t mention specifically who from the past is going to surface again:

An old foe backs the firm into a corner. Samantha and Alex try to broker a peace between clients.

Given where this episode lies in the overall episode order, the fair expectation that we’ve got at the moment is that this is going to be a story that builds and builds as we get closer to the midseason finale. On the other side of this we’re going to have to wait presumably until 2019, if this is like any other season out there, to see what happens next. We’re also crossing our fingers that during this hiatus there is word that comes out on a season 9, given that this is something that we’re really hoping for! We didn’t know going into season 8 that it would work, but it’s certainly proven itself through the seven episodes we’ve had a chance to see to date.
