Unforgotten season 4 renewal: Will it happen in near future?
At the moment, it feels like there is a reason for some optimism, mostly because Unforgotten is one of the British network’s best mystery shows, as we get to see Cassie, Sunny, and many other characters do their best to help people who don’t get a whole lot of help elsewhere. It’s a pretty powerful mystery show and there aren’t too many other series out there precisely like it.
Yet, having a good premise and telling smart stories is by no means a sure sign that the show is coming back for another season. There are, after all, some other issues that the series is going to have to deal with. Speaking in a new interview with the Express, show executive producer Chris Land had the following to say about the show’s future:
“We’re talking about it, definitely, it’s all going to come down to, always the first people that have to make the decision about whether the show comes back, is the audience.
“They have to watch it and enjoy it and at that point if they do, and I hope they do.
“Then we all have a discussion about whether we can all get together and make another one because everyone’s obviously very busy and it’s just a question whether we can make it work whether we can pull the whole team back together again.
“It’s quite an ask. So we have discussions about it but I think we’ll wait and see how season three does.”
We are reasonably optimistic about the future of Unforgotten, but the thing with British dramas in particular, at least compared to ones via the United States, is that there seems to be a tendency to take things more a year at a time. There’s never any guarantee that a series will be around for a long time, so you really do have to just watch and enjoy it in the moment. (At least its ratings seem to be comparable to many other British dramas of a similar type.)
