Fox still debating The Four season 3, So You Think You Can Dance future
At the moment, Fox has not said much when it comes to a potential The Four season 3 or more So You Think You Can Dance. Yet, there is a reason for optimism with both … but also a need for patience.
When it comes to The Four season 3, it is nice to see Fox alternative head Rob Wade say something that we’ve been mentioning for a little while now: The series really did come back a little too soon after the first season concluded. The ratings were down, but it was popular on social media and the ratings stayed fairly steady over the course of the year.
Speaking to Deadline in a new interview, Wade said the following when it comes to the future of The Four on the air:
We’re talking about that at the moment. We’ve been really happy with the way it’s grown throughout the entire summer. We’re really happy with the talent on that show, it has the right auspices to be a broadcast show. What we need to figure out is, if we’re going to bring this back, where should it go. I think we asked a lot of it to come back so quickly after the first season. The feeling was that we didn’t want to leave it off the air for a whole year so we put it back a bit sooner. I think we need to give it enough of a rest so people are looking forward to it.
As for So You think You Can Dance, the series is still in contention, as well — it performs well in DVR ratings and generates Emmy nominations, and those are the sort of thing that we know a lot of people out there really appreciate. With that in mind, we do feel cautiously optimistic that we’re going to see it back on the air moving forward — yet, Fox may take their time announcing it since they often do.
